A commitment to freshness in rosé We can't say it any other way: the impressively aromatic rosé from the friendly winemaker Yoan Le Menn is simply a dream. The dry rosé from Domaine Horgelus in France impresses with its refreshing taste. The fine wine smells of red berries, especially freshly picked strawberries, and is impressively aromatic and round on the palate. The blend of Merlot, Tannat and Cabernet Sauvignon is suitable for every season and goes excellently with fresh salad with crispy toppings or delicious meat dishes - preferably with roasted aromas. The Horgelus family winery is located in the picturesque hills of Gascony and is run by the equally talented and friendly winemaker Yoan Le Menn. His credo is to preserve the wine's fruitiness and liveliness. To do this, he gets up at 3 a.m. during the harvest and uses the cool morning hours to get the grapes into the cellar before the southern French sun starts to burn. White wine JEWEL from Rheinhessen When people talk about a wine jewel, Riesling often has a hand in it. And that's the case here too. Rheinhessen winemaker Juliane Eller makes a brilliant estate wine from the flagship white grape variety. She and her team pick the grapes by hand from selected vineyards around the community of Alsheim. The trained oenologist then takes the utmost care in the cellar, where the harvest is carefully processed. Juliane then matures the wine in steel tanks so that the fresh fruit of the Riesling is bottled as unadulterated as possible. The bouquet of the JUWEL Riesling already matches the elegant bottle design. A fine scent of peach and fresh lime wafts from the glass. On the palate, the wine then reveals itself with great juiciness and a delicate interplay of sweetness and acidity. A Riesling that is simply fun. And that's true - thanks to the moderate alcohol content - even with the second bottle. At just 23 years old, Juliane Eller took over her parents' winery and turned it completely upside down after taking over. Away from the original machinery and towards manual work, the vines were reduced to the five main grape varieties and only dry wines are produced. On the nose it unfolds a bouquet of ripe cherries and plums, which is complemented by a hint of vanilla. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and harmonious with notes of dark fruits and fine tannins that structure the wine well. The finish is balanced and long. From the papal court to the kings of France, from Balzac to Brillat-Savarin, it has always been believed that Tavel's rosé wines are among the best in France. Today, the Tavel appellation is classified as a cru site, like Châteauneuf-du-Pape or Gigondas. It is the only appellation in the Rhône Valley that produces exclusively rosé wines. Thanks to the lean terroir, the great heat and the character of the grape varieties involved, Tavel can be safely described as the king of rosés - and the M. Chapoutier Tavel AOC as the king of kings. It is of remarkable intensity and substance, glows an inviting raspberry pink and seduces with fresh, fruity aromas and a subtle mineral note. A typical Tavel - very dry and spicy - with the unmistakable Chapoutier signature. This Tavel also convinced the “Feinschmecker”, who named it Best Buy Rosé.
A Chapoutier in a delicate rosé Winemaker Michel Chapoutier is not alone in his opinion that great wines are made in the vineyard and not in the cellar. However, what he brings from the slopes of the Rhône Valley and always bottles with brilliant results is unique, in this case a delicately shimmering rosé called "Belleruche". Another of Michel's rules, namely that only single-varietal wines mature into really great wines, is suspended in this rosé wine. This allows the Syrah, Cinsault and Grenache grapes to form a harmonious combination after the night-time harvest and the subsequent direct pressing. In order to preserve the aroma of the raw materials, the must ferments at a low temperature. It then matures for three to six months in stainless steel containers. The result sparkles in the glass in a light pink. The "Belleruche" rosé tempts with an intense berry scent and hints of exotic fruits such as grapefruit and pomegranate. There is also a hint of menthol in the wine. This southern French wine is fresh, delicate and fruity on the palate, proving the class of its creator in rosé wine too. We recommend the "Belleruche" Rosé with Mediterranean dishes and light salads. Enjoy it well chilled!
Magnificent Primitivo Riserva with 97 points A big brother is there when you need him. And so is this Riserva wine. It is the big brother of the popular Magnifico Fuoco Primitivo and with its maturity and powerful bouquet it is immediately on hand. Whether you are looking for the right accompaniment to an opulent dish or simply want to do something good for your wine rack: with this Riserva you will make a big impression, starting with the shiny exterior... Just like the red wax capsule, the bottle shape is reminiscent of the great Bordeaux wines of the last century. The gold-decorated label, on the other hand, refers directly to the sun of Apulia, which gives the Primitivo vines around the town of Manduria their strength. The vines find ideal conditions on the heel of the Italian boot. They take root in soils made of clay and limestone, while strong winds from the south quickly dry the grapes again after rainfall. Only healthy and fully ripe harvested grapes end up in the cellar and become this magnificent Primitivo di Manduria Riserva. A long mash fermentation gives the wine its deep, ruby red color and its wonderfully intense aroma. After fermentation, it is allowed to rest for 24 months, nine of which in wooden barrels. The result is a Primitivo Riserva with incomparably rich fruit and depth. Notes of dark berries, black cherries and fine spices invite you to enjoy it straight away. Ripe tannins and a particularly fine melt on the palate make the enjoyment complete. Luca Maroni awarded the 2018 vintage an impressive 97 points! And rightly so. Try this great Riserva and simply dream yourself to the south of Italy.
Lake Constance in pink The salmon-pink Bodensee Pinot Noir Rosé shines brightly. Thanks to the alpine region from which it comes, it has enjoyed many hours of sunshine, which help the grapes to ripen optimally. This allows the bouquet of the wine to develop well and shows hints of raspberries and strawberries. A fresh, fruity wine that is accompanied by a subtle spiciness.
