Exclusive wine enjoyment with power and depth: Why is this complex and full-bodied red wine called "The Phantom"? The name can certainly be traced back to its exclusivity: only one barrique barrel of this vintage was vinified. From nature-friendly vineyard care to the treatment and care of the grapes, the church's purity law applies: Mass wine may only be produced with the permission of the bishop and must remain natural. This rosé shines with delicate aromas of red fruits, underlined with subtle spicy notes. On the palate it is fresh with the fine, smooth Pinot Noir characteristics.

A Vino Nobile as you wish With the Tenuta Calimaia Vino Nobile di Montepulciano you can enjoy a masterful red wine full of history. The Frescobaldi family once provided the mayor of Montepulciano in the 14th century. With this wine they celebrate their return to the prestigious wine region. It is perfect for cozy evenings for two or as an accompaniment to a sumptuous meal with friends and family. The vineyards of the Tenuta Calimaia are located in a historic growing area that is considered one of the best for the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Here the grapes grow on loamy soils where they develop rich tannins and ripe fruit aromas. After the selective harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and vinified in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. The cuvée, made from 90 percent Sangiovese and 10 percent complementary grape varieties, then matures for 24 months in 50-hectoliter oak barrels. The great effort pays off. The bouquet alone invites you to indulge in notes of red fruits, herbs such as sage and lavender, and finely spicy aromas of cocoa. In the mouth, this Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is extremely powerful with a beautiful freshness and elegant acidity. Fruity aromas of raspberries and currants characterize the taste, which is structured by silky tannins. The finish is long and precise. - That's exactly how we want a Vino Nobile. Bravissimo!

A piece of the Italian way of life The Terre di Montelusa Rosato is a fruity rosé wine from Apulia, the south of Italy. With a lot of commitment, experience and a fine sense, the beguilingly fragrant character of southern Italy has been captured in this wine. This rosé is made from the Nero di Troía grape variety. The local variety is named after the legendary Greek city of Toja, from which it is said to originate. This rosé is just as magical as the history of the grape. Super Superiore! When you hear the name "Asti", do you first think of the famous Asti Spumante, the sweet, white sparkling wine from Piedmont? Then you might be surprised to learn that the vineyards around the city of Asti are largely planted with red wine. The Barbera grape variety clearly sets the tone here. And not just in terms of area. Since 2008, Barbera d'Asti has had the status of a DOCG region, the highest Italian level for quality wines. But that's not all: A Barbera d'Asti Superiore, such as the one produced by the Villa Pani winery, goes one step further in terms of quality... "A Barbera d'Asti requires four months of maturation, whereas a Barbera d'Asti Superiore matures for at least 14 months," explains Stella Grasso. The young winemaker heads up red wine production at Villa Pani and, as a true Piedmontese, is very familiar with the region's peculiarities. "To give the wine more depth and flavor, our Superiore is stored for the full 14 months in small 225-liter barriques. The typical cherry fruit of the Barbera also comes out even better," Stella is sure. In fact, her ruby-red Superiore with its powerful fruit aromas invites you to enjoy it straight away. Piedmont cherry, plum, violet, basil and fine spices characterize the scent. On the palate you feel the stately body and great harmony. Juicy, finely structured and long-lasting, this Barbera d'Asti Superiore is one thing above all: super! Try its excellent quality on its own, with pasta, mature cheese or spicy dishes from the grill.

The best of tradition and modernity When we talk about highly individual wines with strong character, we quickly end up with Barolo. The combination of light red color, fine fruit, strong structure and enormous storage capacity is simply unique in the world of wine. It is no wonder that the impressive wines from the small municipality of the same name in Piedmont enjoy great fame. The Villa Pani Barolo from winemaker Stella Grasso provides you with a modern taste of its highest class. Stella has known the vineyards of Piedmont since she was a child. She comes from Canelli, which is about 30 kilometers east of the Barolo region. She studied oenology in Alba before heading out into the wide world. In Australia, Stella then became acquainted with a very modern, international red wine style, which she has been incorporating into the Villa Pani winery since she returned home. She matures the Barolo in barriques for an extra long time. "Unlike the large barrels, the small barrique gives the wine more of its soft wood aromas. This makes the taste rounder and the sometimes somewhat prickly Barolo accessible a little earlier," explains Stella. The Barolo from Villa Pani is stored in barriques for an impressive 38 months before it is bottled.The wine appears very classic in the glass: a light garnet red sparkles at you. The typical cherry fruit and fine spice notes are immediately present on the nose, accompanied by delicate caramel aromas. On the tongue, the Barolo then positions itself with a powerful body and juicy tartaric acid. In fact, the structure is very polished, despite the present tannins. The long finish reveals fine vanilla notes.The young Stella, that much is clear after tasting, combines tradition and modernity in the best way in this Barolo. Apulia with a difference Apulia - but not Primitivo! With this short formula, the Virgolato invites explorers and lovers of full-bodied red wines to a new wine experience. Because Primitivo may be on everyone's lips, but "Virgolato" is the wine of the moment! Why this is so is clear to anyone who has tried this wine slightly chilled. That is when the advantages of this Rosso come into their own. Fresh fruit and an elegant body nestle against the palate. Juicy, cherry-like and subtly spicy, the Virgolato rolls along the tongue and is soft and balanced. No wonder, since the three old southern Italian grape varieties Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Nero di Troia were brought into perfect harmony. With this wine, amazement is simply allowed. Because so much fruit and freshness is quite unusual for a red wine - especially at this moderate price. Even prettier in pink Norma Ratcliffe, who founded Warwick Estate in South Africa with her husband more than four decades ago, is known as the First Lady of Cape winemaking. A unique monument was erected to her with the "The First Lady" wines. The Warwick Estate "The First Lady Rosé" is a particularly fruity, dry rosé wine that is truly worthy of a monument! On the nose, the noble wine smells of ripe strawberries and red currants. On the palate, it shows gentle notes of watermelon and raspberries, thus presenting the South African grape variety Pinotage in the best possible way. The grapes ripen under ideal conditions at the foot of the Simonsberg. Here the grapes are given their full strength and elegance and the absence of chemical fertilizers allows the vines to ripen healthy and strong. The fruity South African rosé wine goes particularly well with tartar and a dash of truffle oil and is also particularly good to enjoy on a warm summer evening! Taste the terroir: Burgenland is known beyond Austria's borders for its first-class Blaufränkisch. The Wohlmuth Blaufränkisch Neckenmarkt once again provides the delicious reason for this. When producing this dry red wine, the Wohlmuth family places great value on honest manual work in the vineyard and careful processing in the cellar. The grapes come from historic vines on steep slopes that the winemaking family has been cultivating for generations. Mixed soils with proportions of clay, shell limestone and loess also give the Wohlmuth Blaufränkisch Neckenmarkt its very own characteristics. The wine is aged in used barrique barrels. In the glass, this Blaufränkisch appears in a dark ruby ​​garnet with violet reflections. Dark, fully ripe berry aromas, among which the blackberry note typical of Blaufränkisch stands out in particular, pamper the nose. The aromas of juicy berries, combined with a fine spice, also dominate the palate. Velvety, well-rounded tannins caress the palate before a berry-accented finish completes the wine. The Wohlmuth Blaufränkisch Neckenmarkt is convincing across the board and makes connoisseurs' hearts beat faster. Be sure to try it with spicy game dishes.

Drink pink and feel Moscato! Now it's pink! With the [yellow tail] Pink Moscato, the Australian winery Casella is bringing a new color to the wine shelf! Admittedly, we're not that far removed from rosé wine, but still: Rosé is rosé and Pink Moscato is pink! Moscato, you might think, isn't that a white wine grape? Bingo! The pink shimmer comes from the addition of small amounts of red grape juice. But the intensely colored wine is not only visually impressive. In terms of taste, it also provides a wonderful drinking pleasure with its sweet, fruity aroma of strawberries, which is also very crisp thanks to additional notes of green apple. In order to keep the fruit aromas and fresh acidity as concise as possible, the grapes are harvested at night. The processing equipment is also kept cool and the wine is cold-filtered. After vinification, it is blended with the juice of other Muscat grapes. This gives it an extra kick of freshness and fruit! The lively character of this Australian wine is underlined by a very fine effervescence. Try the [yellow tail] Pink Moscato well chilled with light dishes or as an aperitif.
