Elegant Chardonnay from the Mosel When Markus Molitor took over his father's winery at just 20 years old, his vision was already very clear and ambitious: to help the Mosel regain its former glory with individual, site-specific and storable wines. Today we have to say: he has succeeded impressively! With his legendary Rieslings, Markus Molitor is considered one of the most important German wine ambassadors abroad. But the maestro is not only enthusiastic about Riesling. His Haus Klosterberg Chardonnay is so complex, fresh and typical of Molitor that one can only be amazed by the repertoire of its creator...The grapes for this premium Chardonnay are carefully picked by hand, ground and macerated on the berry skins for several hours. The must is then fermented slowly and coolly, allowing the natural fruit to fully develop. After fermentation, the wine is gently aged in wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks with long yeast storage. The result is a fruity, elegant and complex white wine that offers a distinctive taste experience. The nose is fruity and mineral at the same time and makes you want to take the first sip. Anyone who has ever had the Robert Weil Rheingau Riesling in their glass will know why this 30-kilometer-long freak of nature, through which the Rhine is briefly interrupted in its north-south course and meanders from east to west, is so famous for its Rieslings. With the Taunus at your back and the sun in front of you, everything that the king of grape varieties loves comes together here. In the case of the Weil Riesling, this also includes the excellent locations around the town of Kiedrich and the great know-how of Robert Weil. Produced organically and selected with the greatest care, only perfectly healthy and fully ripe Riesling grapes make it to the press. After spontaneous fermentation with the yeasts of the vineyard and a short mash, a gentle fermentation in stainless steel tanks follows.
