The finest French winemaking art: The Cazes family name is one of the greats in the world of wine. Originally from Bordeaux, the family moved to the Rhône Valley in 2006, where they have been producing very high-quality and fine red wines ever since. But the Cazes' exquisite Rhône range also includes a Côtes du Rhône suitable for everyday use. Try it! The Cazes Côtes du Rhône Réserve is made in the traditional way in concrete and stainless steel containers. Fermentation begins at 18 - 20°C with a gradual increase in temperature to 28°C. Afterwards, part of the wine (20 percent) matures in wooden barrels (foudres) and the larger part in concrete barrels (80 percent). The result is delicious: The Côtes du Rhône Réserve from the Cazes family has a deep, ruby ​​red color and has pronounced aromas of black and red currants, raspberries and the herbs of the garrigue on the nose. A fine liquorice note is added on the palate. The fruit is concentrated and clear here too. The tannins are soft and ripe, the finish long and elegant. The alcohol-free alternative to Doppio Passo We have excellent news for all lovers of alcohol-free wines: The Doppio Passo family has released the Rosso "Alternativa", the alcohol-free counterpart to the popular red wine. Argentinian top cuvée Eduardo Casademont, chief winemaker of Finca Las Moras, never tires of bottling one top wine after another. This time he has combined his favorite grape variety, Malbec, with the Bonarda grape to create a brilliant red wine cuvée called "Mora Negra". The grapes come from two different valleys in the San Juan wine region. The Malbec grows at an altitude of up to 1,350 meters in the mild climate of the Pedernal Valley. From there it brings with it a fabulous freshness and intense fruit. The Bonarda ripens slightly lower and at significantly hotter temperatures in the 650 meter high Tulum Valley. The grapes are picked by hand when they are very ripe. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks is followed by 15 months of aging in new barrels made of American and French oak. During this time the wine develops spicy and smoky aromas. 8 more months in the bottle also make it appear velvety and balanced. A deep purple sparkles in the glass. The scent is initially characterized by the dark berry notes that give the Mora Negra its name, but over time red fruits and hints of cooked figs also become noticeable. On top is a trace of sweet spices such as vanilla and a hint of smoke. On the palate, the Mora Negra impresses with its vital freshness, which is due to the high Malbec content of 70%. The deep fruit and inner strength of this wine are also carried by velvety tannins, which carry the elegant taste through to the long finish. An impressive experience!

This serves to concentrate the berry ingredients and gives the dry wine a correspondingly strong intensity. This quiet giant from Masi is therefore rightly in a league with the great wines of Italy such as Brunello, Barolo or Bolgheri.

Mouton Cadet in organic quality If you haven't had the Mouton Cadet in your glass yet, you should definitely try this famous Bordeaux wine. Especially in the organic version! The Mouton Cadet Bio Rouge is the first organically certified cuvée from the traditional Rothschild house. The grapes come 100 percent from organic plots and are harvested very carefully. After vinification, the wine rests for 16 months to harmonize its taste. It then shimmers in the glass in a deep, dark ruby ​​red. The nose is invitingly fruity. Notes of fresh blackberries and blueberries follow on the palate. The fruit is accompanied by a fine spice and gentle tannins, which make the wine very round and glide over the tongue with a beautiful aftertaste. Completely sustainable - that is the overall concept of this Mouton Cadet. Sealed with a natural cork, the paper for the labels also comes from sustainable forestry. The bottle is made of recycled lightweight glass and the capsule is also the first of its kind to be recyclable. Organic and that's it. That's the motto of this wine. Portuguese master class The port city of Porto, located at the mouth of the Douro, gave its name to what is probably the most famous wine in the world. The wine, which has been highly prized in England since the middle of the 17th century, is shipped from there. Its growing area is about 100 kilometers upstream in the upper Douro valley. 80 different grape varieties thrive on heat-storing slate soils on the steep slopes, of which up to 40 varieties are approved for port wine production. Today, modern cellar technology ensures gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation, which is stopped after two to three days by adding wine distillate. Osborne White Port, made exclusively from white grapes, is left to ferment until a slight residual sugar content is reached before wine distillate is added, resulting in a light golden, delicately sweet aperitif port.The young wine is stored in the vineyards over the winter, and in the spring it is taken downstream to Vila Nova de Gaia, opposite Porto, where Osborne, like all famous port wine houses, has its "lodges". There the wine matures for three years in wooden barrels before bottling.Like most port wines, Osborne White Port is a cuvée made from wines from different locations and vintages, so that a consistent quality is achieved over the years.

This 10 Years Old Tawny Port from Qunita dos Murças matures for 10 years in oak barrels, which gives it its amber color. It has a wide range of aromas to offer: nutty notes of hazelnuts and almonds as well as figs and vanilla come to the fore. The taste of the tawny is very soft, thanks to the residual sweetness that it retains. It is elegant, with a well-balanced acidity. This wonderful pleasure has a long finish that is worth remembering. A port wine that leaves nothing to be desired. To make the port wine, the grapes are harvested, de-stemmed and crushed. This is traditionally done in so-called "lagares", granite troughs in which the grapes are gently crushed on foot. The must then ferments in barrels until the fermentation is stopped with the addition of wine distillate. This is what sets the port wine apart and gives it a higher alcohol and sugar content than normal wines. This tawny is then aged for at least 10 years. Like many other ports, this is a cuvée of different wines, from different locations and vintages, so that it continuously maintains its quality.
